A Great Visit

I had a great visit with all of the kids yesterday!  Taylor came along and got to meet everyone.  They were very excited to see us and it was a lot of fun.  They all look so much older and taller, have new haircuts and have learned so much!  They asked a lot of questions about Taylor and Charlie.  We talked about what they learned while I have been gone and what they are excited about for the summer.  I think everyone had a fantastic time!

I want to take this time to say THANK YOU to all of you! I know this year was a little different with me being gone for several weeks but I know they are still ready for 3rd grade and I will always remember each and every one of them! Below is a letter I normally send home at the end of the year. Since I won't be able to do that I want to share it with you this way...

Dear Families,

I can’t believe this year has come to an end.  I want to say THANK YOU for sharing your child with me.  I have enjoyed every day we spent together.  It is amazing to watch the growth!  I know they are more than ready for 3rd grade! Many things this year would not have been possible without the help and support from you.  Thank you for everything you have done for me, our class and your child!  This poem, by Maria Munson, does a great job of summing up the feelings I have about the end of the year.

Great Expectations

It’s time to say, “Good-bye.”
Our year has come to an end.
I’ve made more cherished memories
And many more new friends.
I’ve watched your children learn and grow
And change from day to day.
I hope that all the things we’ve done
Have helped in some small way.
So it’s with happy memories
I send them out the door,
With great hope and expectations
For what next year holds in store.

Thank you again for a great year, all of your kindness, support and trust!
Please come visit in the years to come.
Love,
Mrs. Pilliod
